Built by guides, for guides.
Vertrac started with a question our cofounder Zoe kept asking: why is there no standard way to track a guiding career?
She'd spent years working across seasons, continents, and disciplines — sea kayaking one summer, diving the next. Every time a new employer asked for her experience, it meant digging through old emails, hunting down scanned certifications, and rewriting the same CV in a different format. Certifications sat in a folder somewhere. Trip logs were spread across notebooks, phone photos, and half-remembered stories over campfires.
She wasn't alone. Every guide she spoke with had the same problem. The outdoor industry runs on trust and reputation — but the tools to prove that trust hadn't caught up. Employers wanted a way to verify experience. Guides wanted a way to show it. Nothing existed that spoke to either side.
Our founding team is made up of outdoor enthusiasts and working professionals — people who've guided, taught, climbed, paddled, and skied through the same broken systems. We started building Vertrac because we needed it ourselves. And now we're building it for the industry that raised us.
Phase 1 is the résumé. What comes next is a full career platform — hiring, logbooks, and eventually direct bookings. The mission is simple: give the outdoor profession the digital home it's always needed.
